Renewables Ohio

I have updated the Ohio Renewable Energy Database and posted it on the League of Women Voters Web site at http://www.lwvcols.org/miscfiles/Database1-10-09.pdf . The report states that Ohio still gets the majority of its renewable electricity by converting waste products to energy. Wind and solar combine to provide only about six percent of renewables.

I have also produced background material on my blog at http://alanpeg.blogspot.com/ dated August 17, 2010. This document includes:

How the numbers in the Database were calculated.
A list of data sources on the web.
Relations among units used in reports of electricity generation and consumption.

I will appreciate any and all additions and corrections. Al Rosenfield alanpeg@alum.mit.edu
