More GEO Volunteers Needed for Ohio State Fair

Help Green Energy Oho and see America’s Greatest State Fair at the same time!

Courtesy of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, our statewide, non-profit GEO will maintain a display booth at the Ohio State Fair from Wednesday, June 24 through Sunday, August 4, 2013.  We need volunteers to help us interact with passersby.  Giving GEO four hours of your time at our booth will also get you into the Fair FREE along with a FREE garage parking pass.

The GEO booth will be in the Horticulture Building where 250,000 people are expected to pass through.  This is the statewide event attended by Ohioans from all 88 of the state’s counties.

Our purpose for the GEO booth is two-fold:

• Inform the public about green energy across Ohio and encourage new members for GEO using our coming events (including Fall GEO Tour) flyer, current GEO News Magazine and sign-up for more information about GEO including volunteer activities and business promotions.
• Let customers of investor-owned electric utilities (AEP Ohio, Duke, DP&L and FirstEnergy) know about how they can save on their electric bill by switching to 100% wind power from AEP Energy who will donate $30 to GEO for each switching customer.www.aepenergy.com/promo/geo.html

We now have 10 Volunteers, but need 12 more.

Two Green Energy Ohio Volunteers are needed for minimums of 4 hours to talk to passersby at the GEO Booth at the Horticulture Building as part of the Ohio Farm Bureau exhibit area. 

• Volunteer times are from 10 am to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm daily.
• There are time slots for 2 volunteers each day.
• Volunteers also will receive a free adult single day admission ticket and a free parking pass using Gate 10 on 17th Avenue for top of Complex 10 garage (if full park in General Parking).
